To kick off the winter season, we’ve picked our favourite glacier: with an impressive 55 kilometres of slopes, mostly natural snow, and the legendary snow park, the Kaunertal Glacier offers ideal conditions for a perfect start to the season. No long queues at the lifts, varied runs covering over 1,000 metres in altitude and slopes with no drag lines – there’s something for everyone here! Whether you’re looking for wide carving runs or want to let off steam in the snow park, the Kaunertal leaves nothing to be desired. For this weekend trip, we’ll be staying at the Hotel Tia Monte in Feichten, at the foot of the glacier. This weekend isn’t just perfect for all fans of glacier snow, but also for anyone looking to buy a new snowboard for the coming winter: at the same time, the Shred Testival is taking place on the Kaunertal Glacier, where you can put boards from 30 manufacturers through their paces for free.
